Job Purpose and Scope
Teaching faculty are responsible for delivering learning activities that enable students to meet course objectives and enhancing the educational environment of the college and community. Adjunct faculty typically teach on a semester‑by‑semester basis, limited to a maximum of five classes per academic year.
Essential Job Functions
Teach Continuing Education courses in the Certified Nursing Aide Program.
Develop and use course syllabi following institutional guidelines.
Instruct students through lectures, on‑site labs, and off‑site clinical facilities, linking theory to practice for long‑term care residents.
Comply with Texas Department of Health and Human Services (TDHHS) requirements and LSC program expectations.
Administer written tests and Texas Nurse Aide Performance Records; provide written and oral feedback.
Evaluate student progress and report timely and accurately.
Submit required college reports and forms.
Maintain office hours, electronic communication, and positive professional relationships.
Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Learning Management Systems.
Physical Abilities
Use fingers and hands for tasks such as typing and handling documents.
Lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 20 pounds occasionally.
Perform tasks requiring bending, twisting, and stooping.
Read, write, and communicate effectively while working.
Work Schedule & Conditions
Workstation: PC on a LAN with standard office equipment.
Interface with internal and external contacts as needed.
Work in a climate‑controlled office with minimal safety hazards.
Varies by class time; instructors must meet all scheduled class times and be available outside class.
Required Qualifications
Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) licensed in Texas.
At least two years of nursing experience.
Completed teaching adult students course or equivalent experience supervising Nurse Aids.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Healthcare or related field.
Previous Charge Nurse experience or at least one year providing long‑term care services in a nursing facility.
Salary
$55.44 per contact hour.
