Project Officer
Job Location: Long Island City, NY
The Role
The Project Officer will be responsible for providing construction inspection services on various public-school projects for the NYCSCA CM Mentor Program. Projects are located in all 5 boroughs of NYC.
Responsibilities
Ensure the construction work is conducted according to the project specifications, contract drawings, approved submittals and shop drawings
Ensure the project procedures are conducted according to the quality specifications, and the safety regulations
Monitor the project phases closely to ensure delivery of the project in a timely manner according to the projects schedule
Coordinate, attend, and manage the project meetings (pre-construction, kickoff, quality, safety, open issues, and progress meetings)
Participate in the project design development
Review and process site safety plans and safety logs with the coordination of the agency safety unit
Keep track of the project permitting process and inspections from start to completion and closeout
Ensure the construction is in accordance with building code and NYCSCA specifications
Oversee and assist the document control team with tracking the projects documents and submittal process
Review and negotiate the additional field change orders
Schedule and coordinate field quality inspection and testing for various phases
Prepare and follow up with the contractors on all required punch list items to closeout
Required Skills And Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college (preferably engineering or construction management)
Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in Construction Management/Construction Inspection of vertical construction projects for NYC agencies.
OSHA 30-hour Construction required
