Our TPA Liability Oversight Claims Team’s Construction division handles complex bodily injury claims arising from automobile, general liability, and employers’ liability coverages.
Location: Los Angeles, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Atlanta/Alpharetta, GA; Dallas, TX; Exton, PA; Chicago, IL; NYC, NY; Hartford, CT (Hybrid).
As a Senior Claims Specialist, you will oversee complex primary bodily injury claims, manage self‑insured retentions, deductibles, and guaranteed cost programs, and ensure proper reporting of potential exposures within the AXA XL policy program.
You will collaborate with third‑party claim administrator partners throughout the United States, provide recommendations on claim coverage, investigation, litigation, settlement, and ensure reserve adequacy and mitigation of risk.
What You'll Be DOING
Active management of a caseload of high‑value liability claims nationwide for assigned Construction book of business clients.
Coordinate coverage referrals and compliance between TPAs, legal teams, and AXA XL compliance department.
Oversee claim handling phases—coverage, investigation, evaluation, reserving, resolution, and recovery—per AXA XL best practices.
Collaborate on claim management strategies to deliver optimal outcomes and align exposure resolution.
Consult with internal claim resources, practice leaders, and claim legal to mitigate claim exposure and expense.
Maintain claim account management, communicate claim issues, participate in TPA audit process, and support TPA performance.
Collaborate proactively with internal and external stakeholders on claim experience, results, and trends.
Contribute to key metric development for TPA claim audits and coordinate external counsel retention.
What You Will Bring
College degree preferred.
Advanced claim handling experience with high‑value/complex claim management and litigation for automobile, general liability, and employers’ liability arising from construction.
Defined expertise in coverage and compliance related to these lines.
Multi‑jurisdictional U.S. experience.
Experience managing claims in an unbundled TPA model and providing technical liability oversight.
Experience with NY Labor Law desired.
Knowledge of workers’ compensation, employers’ liability (desired but not required).
Demonstrated managerial leadership and ability to influence external relationships.
Effective verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
Continuous improvement of internal claim processes.
Strong teamwork and collaboration with practice leaders, legal, TPAs, and clients.
Relevant insurance or industry certifications preferred.
Advanced experience handling construction bodily injury claims.
Highest standards of personal and professional conduct.
