Role Overview We are seeking a Manager, Technical Training & Development to lead the team of Instructors and Sr. Program Coordinators on Metro Technical Training team. This role oversees promotional testing, Car Track Equipment Maintenance training, auxiliary craft and safety training programs, learning management system support, and other training-related initiatives.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage a staff of supervisors and instructors for comprehensive training programs.
Implement systematic approach to training and development; perform needs analyses, skills gap assessments, and training evaluations.
Collaborate with internal and client department leadership for continuous improvement of training development and delivery.
Establish and manage comprehensive technical skills training programs based on adult learning and instructional design best practices.
Oversee the development and implementation of training manuals, curricula, evaluation procedures, test instruments, simulators, mock-ups, and training media.
Supervise staff, including applicant selection, disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, and ensure appropriate subordinate training is provided.
Provide quarterly status reports including budget, goals, activities, accomplishments, and projections.
Qualifications
Associate degree in Education, Instructional Design, Engineering, Human Resources Development, Urban Transit, Transportation or related field; or high school diploma/GED plus two years experience in technical training in industrial setting.
Minimum seven years progressively responsible experience in technical training, employee development programs in industrial setting; or combination of field experience in transit engineering, operations, fleet maintenance, and infrastructure maintenance.
A valid Driver’s License.
Roadway Worker Protection qualification within three months of hire.
Successfully complete medical examination and ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
