A compelling opportunity for a strategic leader with product and channel expertise. The Business Development Manager (BDM) will drive growth initiatives, secure incremental distribution listings, and increase sell‑through across existing distribution networks.
Job Summary The BDM will concentrate on 1–2 product lines or channel expansion opportunities at a time, aligned with senior leadership. In this role, you will develop and execute market penetration strategies to increase Hillman’s market share within a 12–18‑month timeframe, create compelling sales programs, and motivate the sales organization to deliver incremental revenue. The BDM acts as a strategic ambassador across multiple distribution channels, including home centers, PRO channels, LBM, mass retail, and specialty retail.
Essential Job Functions
Drive top‑line revenue and EBITDA growth by identifying and securing new, incremental opportunities.
Demonstrate deep understanding of ROI, customer lifetime value, and Hillman’s financial model.
Lead strategic initiatives across departments without direct authority.
Navigate and overcome internal and external objections to achieve business goals.
Proactively challenge the status quo and break through market barriers.
Deliver compelling presentations to key customers, stakeholders, and Hillman’s leadership.
Identify and pursue creative, outside‑the‑box growth opportunities.
Uphold high ethical standards and promote accountability.
Represent Hillman at trade shows, events, and customer meetings.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
Minimum five years of business development experience, ideally with exposure to Sales, Marketing, Channel, or Product functions.
Proven ability to create and execute go‑to‑market strategies in complex or saturated markets.
Experience in the hardlines industry strongly preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, BI platforms, and CRM systems.
Willingness to travel up to 25%; valid driver’s license required.
