Director of Assisted Living
Job Summary Our vibrant senior living community Courtyard at Mt. Tabor is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Assisted Living to join our team of Senior Living Warriors. The Director will lead daily operations, support the team, and ensure residents receive the highest standard of care.
Responsibilities
Conduct and coordinate resident assessments and care plan development (initial and ongoing). Ensure assessments are completed before move‑in and updated as needed.
Recruit, interview, hire, train and supervise department staff; manage schedule, time‑keeping, meal breaks, and overtime. Maintain competency training and state‑required medication education.
Coordinate medication administration, prescription orders, and medication storage; ensure accurate documentation.
Maintain inventory of resident‑care supplies and coordinate central storage.
Develop and maintain effective communication with hospital personnel, physicians, community organizations, families, and other health‑service agencies.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and company policies.
Assist the Executive Director with budgeting, financial monitoring, and return‑on‑investment goals.
Participate in marketing efforts and serve as liaison between community, families, and outside providers.
Promote a culture of teamwork, open communication, and the company’s core values.
Respond to emergencies, manage crisis situations, and maintain a safe environment for residents and staff.
Act as Manager on Duty when necessary.
Qualifications
Valid State of Oregon ALF/RCF Administrator license.
High school diploma or GED (required); associate’s or bachelor’s degree in health‑care, human services, or related field preferred.
Prior management experience in assisted living or similar senior‑living environment.
Current First Aid certification.
Clear criminal background check.
Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other office equipment.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and written English skills.
Basic math skills for budgeting and personnel actions.
Ability to make independent decisions and remain calm under pressure.
Demonstrated professionalism and tact with residents, staff, families, and guests.
Preferred: two years of college in human services or health‑care; bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Human Services, or Health Care.
Physical Demands
Move intermittently throughout the community.
Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 lb and assist with resident relocation.
Stand, sit, walk, bend, and perform other customary tasks as required.
