Role Overview Logistics Coordinator Lead
will oversee daily terminal operations, ensuring efficient dispatch, yard flow, and driver activity to support accurate and timely delivery of plant goods. This position partners with internal and external teams to maintain equipment readiness, meet compliance, and continuously improve operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Support daily terminal operations, including dispatch, yard flow, and driver coordination.
Monitor driver schedules, routes, and performance to ensure on‑time, accurate deliveries.
Utilize transportation and routing software (TMS/ERP) for order planning, execution, and real‑time adjustments.
Track and report on KPIs such as on‑time delivery rates, damage incidents, and container recovery metrics.
Maintain compliance by monitoring vehicle inspections, DOT regulations, and safety standards.
Promote safety protocols while maintaining terminal cleanliness and operational readiness.
Coordinate with fleet and maintenance teams for equipment availability and preventive maintenance schedules.
Attend meetings to support cross‑functional coordination and operational planning.
Manage recovery and inventory tracking of racks, pallets, and containers from retail sites.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders—including logistics, growers, and the OU—to align transportation needs with order volume and seasonal demands.
Participate in vendor and carrier communications to resolve issues and maintain strong working relationships.
Assist with seasonal operational planning and execution, including route optimization and resource allocation.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to incorporate strategic opportunities into development programs that drive team growth and organizational success.
Implement and evaluate initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, capabilities, and team performance.
Provide guidance and support to employees on specific tasks, procedures, and initiatives.
Facilitate communication and coordination between relevant departments to ensure alignment and execution.
Additional Responsibilities
Availability for flexible schedule changes based on business needs (including seasonal demand and additional hours such as weekends, nights, and holidays).
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather information or help as required.
Perform additional duties as necessary.
Qualifications
3 to 5 years of experience in trucking, logistics, or transportation operations.
1 to 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a fast‑paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree or certification in Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.
Strong understanding of TMS, ERP tools, and routing software.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to seasonal operational demands.
Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety compliance standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Spanish is a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Experience with Power BI is a plus.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules as needed.
Must be work‑authorized in the United States; Costa Farms will not sponsor any visa for this position.
Physical Demands
Sedentary work with occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.
Primarily sitting with occasional standing, walking, or lifting to specified weights.
Work Environment The role is fully office‑based, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, monitors, keyboards, mice, and telephones. The environment may include background noise from conversations and office equipment, with occasional outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions.
