Position Summary

As part of the Customer Services team at 445 Bryant Street, the Customer Service Assistant delivers exceptional service to the public, community groups, and internal staff. This role provides front desk coverage, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment for all visitors.

Desire Qualifications:

Strong customer service skills

Ability to use and/or learn class registration software

Strong Microsoft Office skills preferred

Schedule

This is a part-time position, averaging 15–20 hours per week, with regular weekday shifts (Monday through Friday) and occasional weekend or evening assignments as needed.

The City of Palo Alto offers the following benefits to those in a SEIU Hourly position .

Medical Stipend $3.64 per hour

Sick Leave Earn .03 hour of sick leave for each hour worked.

Essential Duties

Greets visitors and responds to in-person, phone, and e-mail inquiries from the public about 445 Bryant Street’s programs, facility rentals, classes, and work shops, as well as other Community Services Department programs.

Processes class registrations and point-of-sale services.

Sets up equipment, tables, chairs as needed.

On occasion will need to open and/or securely close the facility.

Supplemental Information

This is an SEIU Hourly (limited-benefits) position that is budgeted to not exceed 1,000 hours per fiscal year. The number of hours per week and schedule will be determined based on assignment.
