The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for full life‑cycle recruiting and the outcomes of the recruitment process to include: sourcing, screening, interviewing, and recommending staff to all business units within the enterprise. The Specialist assesses market trends, and assists in developing recruitment strategies and retention programs to attract the best applicants.
The Specialist assists in developing and implementing the recruitment media plan such as job fairs, internet websites, etc. This position ensures equitable employment practices and maintains compliance with VCUHS policies and regulations.
Experience REQUIRED
TA Specialist: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Human Resources.
Senior TA Specialist: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Human Resources with at least two (2) years recruiting.
Experience PREFERRED
TA Specialist: Two (2) years of healthcare recruiting, particularly in an academic medical center setting; Two (2) years of experience using an automated applicant tracking system.
Senior TA Specialist: Eight (8) years of human resources experience, Four (4) years of healthcare recruiting, particularly in an academic medical center setting.
Education/training REQUIRED
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Education/training PREFERRED
Master’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
PHR or SHRM-CP Certification.
Independent Action(s) Required
Works independently with little or no supervision or direction. Works with assigned Managers and Directors and collaborates with HR colleagues to develop strategies that meet the recruitment and retention needs of their assigned workload. Ensures legal compliance in all recruitment efforts. Develops, plans and participates in job fairs, including creation of recruitment materials. Coordinates the hiring process with the HR Solutions Center Employment Specialists.
Additional Position Requirements
Requires some travel.
Requires occasional participation in off-shift and/or weekend events.
