Overview

We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable Fire Alarm System Sales Representative to generate new business and support existing accounts in the life safety and building systems industry. This role focuses on achieving booking and profit targets by managing a strong pipeline of opportunities, delivering consistent forecasts, and driving strategic growth across vertical markets. A successful candidate will possess both technical expertise in fire alarm systems and strong sales and operational acumen. Base Salary: $60,000 + Commission Key Responsibilities

Meet or exceed assigned order, booking, and profit quotas through proactive sales activities. Develop and manage a qualified sales funnel with accurate order intake forecasting. Maintain a deep understanding of the regional marketplace, customer needs, competitor offerings, and market trends in automation, electrical, fire, mechanical, and IoT systems. Create and execute vertical market and account strategies for sustainable growth. Identify and pursue new business in both existing and adjacent markets; develop go-to-market strategies tailored to end-users and construction partners. Act as a consultative advisor to clients, identifying needs and recommending code-compliant, performance-driven fire alarm solutions. Attend industry networking events and maintain active membership in professional organizations such as NFPA, NFSA, AFAA, ASHE, and others. Lead budget discussions with clients and guide them through investment decisions and value-based pricing. Position the company as a digital-forward industry leader in fire protection and life safety services. Collaborate closely with operations, sales support, finance, and legal teams to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction. Work independently to review project drawings, identify required systems and equipment for code-compliant installations, and prepare comprehensive proposals including equipment, parts, and labor. Participate actively in sales team meetings, workshops, and training to stay current on product and market knowledge. Actively prospect and solicit appropriate clients to build a consistent book of repeat bid activity. Balance account management with new business development to support overall sales growth. Qualifications

Proven experience in fire alarm/life safety system sales, business development, or account management. Strong knowledge of NFPA codes preferred; NICET certification strongly encouraged, or equivalent technical background. Ability to prepare bid designs and estimates independently. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and identify device placement. Skilled in consultative sales, pricing strategy, and negotiation. Familiarity with CRM systems and sales pipeline reporting. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills. Willingness to travel locally for onsite client meetings and project walkthroughs.
