Purpose The Clinical Training Manager for VELYS Digital Surgery will be responsible for the successful execution of hands‑on training and education of the VELYS Robotic‑Assisted Solution with Healthcare Professionals. The Clinical Training Manager will be a subject matter expert on the VELYS Robotic‑Assisted Solution and will conduct training for physicians and hospital staff. Additionally, the Clinical Training Manager will need deep procedural knowledge of Knee Arthroplasty, the ATTUNE platform and other total joint procedures as required. By facilitating the training protocol and ensuring adherence to quality and regulatory standards, this team member will be responsible for ensuring successful training completion for our users, leading to the successful adoption of the VELYS Digital Surgery technology. The Clinical Training Manager will partner with marketing, R&D and medical teams to improve and elevate hands‑on training protocols and facilitation guides. This individual will have direct influence on the customer experience before, during and after hands‑on training events. This exciting role will require a self‑led, motivated, highly communicative, and collaborative individual with a passion for teaching, coaching and education.

You Will Be Responsible For

Conduct VELYS Robotic Hands‑On training in non‑clinical settings for physicians and OR Staff in accordance with standardized protocols.

Facilitate didactic sessions as appropriate.

Partner with regional sales, education and marketing leads to design personalized learning pathways for the adoption of VELYS Digital Surgery technology.

Partner with R&D, Marketing and Franchise Medical Directors to incorporate procedural standards and best practices into training material.

Partner with HCP faculty leading up to and during events to tailor hands‑on training to meet participants’ objectives and experience.

Identify opportunities for improvements and additions to training content and learning journey experience.

Continuously improve existing training and educational materials for new and current technology with deep understanding of relevant use in a clinical setting.

Lead the on‑site preparation for training events, including station set‑up and tear down as well as cleaning of materials used during events and demonstrations.

Manage robot reusable and one‑time use instrument inventory for training events.

Contribute to the evolution of training programs for the Field Sales Organization and conduct sales training as requested.

Partner with key global team members to support preparation for OUS technology launches as needed.

Qualifications / Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree

Minimum of 5 years in progressive Healthcare or related commercial roles (e.g., Sales, Sales Training, Professional Education, Marketing and/or Sales Management) with a history of success.

Strong clinical expertise and orthopaedic/medical device training experience.

Demonstrated ability to work with, and successfully train to various learning styles using multiple modalities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Digital /MS Office proficiency.

Preferred

Clinical knowledge of the Knee Arthroplasty procedures and/or surgical robotics is highly preferred.

Experience with sophisticated technologies and/or capital equipment.

Proven ability to understand business strategy and translate into learning solutions that support the company’s business goals.

Current or previous experience with adult learning concepts and Instructional Design Principles.

Experience using and/or implementing modern educational technologies.

Understanding of adult learning principles and utilization of professional facilitation skills when training others (virtual/live).

Skills

Demonstrated peer‑to‑peer training with complex and evolving technologies.

Training & education capability: demonstrate successful teaching and training events with physicians and hospital employees.

Maintain rigorous compliance with FDA and Johnson & Johnson Regulatory and Quality expectations.

Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

Strong ability to collaborate and partner with internal and external stakeholders.

Business acumen: excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to listen and understand the customer feedback and competently relays information, high emotional intelligence, leadership skills, on‑spot troubleshooting, flexibility, motivation, and drive.

Ability to handle and correctly utilize products and technologies for the explicit purpose of providing hands‑on training to customers in a non‑clinical environment.

Up to 75% of business travel will be required.

Weekend event support and/or travel will be required.

Other

Office deskwork, requiring sitting, walking, using phone and computer.

May lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.

Compensation and Benefits The anticipated base pay range for this position is $100,000 to $172,500.

Remote work options may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis and, if approved by the Company.

Employees are eligible for the following time‑off benefits:

Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year

Sick time – up to 40 hours per calendar year (up to 56 hours in Washington)

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year

Work, personal and family time – up to 40 hours per calendar year
