R&D Electrical Engineer- Hardware & FPGA , you will help our team develop and test advanced hand-held remote visual inspection (RVI) hardware. Depending on your skills, you will be assisting in various aspects of the team's work, including design and development of embedded software for control and visualization via a combination of digital signal processors (DSP's), x86/x64 multicore CPU's, and current, generation graphics processing units (GPU's), with an emphasis on design for testability and validation automation. As a R&D Electrical Engineer- Hardware & FPGA you will be responsible for: Optimizing designs within FPGA resource constraints, resolving timing issues, documenting FPGA design and build / deploy processes. Desired experience would include developing Linux drivers for FPGA IP in a Xilinx petalinux environment Design and develop the electrical systems for our world-class video borescopes. Develop electrical architectures and detailed electrical designs, mainly through circuit board design in the Altium toolset. The primary design challenges are low noise, high bandwidth circuitry, lowest reasonable power, wired and wireless connectivity, digital signal processing, and other typical battery-operated system paradigms. We also develop robust designs for the exclusive use of our factories. Devise and execute cross-functional (HW, SW, Mechanical) experiments to alleviate high-risk portions of designs, thereby enabling programs to launch on time. Develop and execute electronic manufacturing tests to ensure a high-quality product delivery to our mission-critical customer base. Document products and technical data generated consistent with engineering policies and procedures. As a part of a project team on execute activities including troubleshooting, validation, testing, experimentation, and test reporting. Mentor junior engineers (dependent on experience level) Work with production engineering and production associate's in real-time resolution of hardware issues.
