Location: Hybrid – The expectations is to be on-site in either Sartorius’s Bohemia, NY or Marlborough, MA three times per week. The Primary Location will be in Marlborough, with a minimum of 3 days per quarter in our Bohemia NY location.

We are seeking a dynamic and technically adept Manager to lead our team of North American In-House Application Specialists. In this role you will be fully responsible for a team of specialists whose primary objectives are to support internal and external customers with technical inquiries, demonstrations and applications development.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in bioprocessing with an understanding of upstream and downstream processes, single‑use technologies, and process analytics. You will build, manage, and lead the Inside Applications team in accordance with the commercial strategy in the Americas, in an effort to bring enabling technologies to our client base and drive the growth of our organization.

Team Leadership and Development

Build and lead a technically proficient team of in‑house application specialists.

Support the development of training programs focused on bioprocessing workflows, GMP compliance, and emerging technologies.

Mentor team members in advanced application support, troubleshooting, and customer engagement.

Technical Resource Management

Allocate resources based on technical competency and customer need across multiple modalities.

Support product lifecycle activities including validation, scale‑up, and tech transfer.

Define and monitor KPIs related to technical support efficiency, customer satisfaction, and lead conversion.

Analyze performance data to identify gaps and implement continuous improvement strategies.

Customer‑Facing Technical Support

Oversee technical support for customer inquiries, demos, and application development.

Drive engagement through webinars, application notes, and on‑site technical consultations.

Collaborate with sales and marketing to translate customer needs into technical solutions.

Daily Operations and Project Management

Manage daily operations of the Inside Applications team, including scheduling and workload balancing.

Lead special projects such as data generation for product launches, application development, and competitive benchmarking.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Partner with R&D, Product Management, and Field Applications to ensure cohesive technical messaging.

Provide logistical and technical support for trade shows, training events, and internal workshops.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related life‑science discipline.

3+ years of management experience in a life‑sciences support function.

2+ years of hands‑on experience with any of the following bioprocessing technologies: Fluid Management (single‑use), Separation Technologies (TFF, UF/DF), Process Analytical Technologies (PAT), Cell Culture Technologies (bioreactors).

Experience with GMP documentation and validation protocols.

Proven ability to lead technical teams and drive performance through KPIs.

Strong project management and resource allocation skills.

Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration capabilities.
