Survey Crew Chief
Join Farnsworth Group, Inc., a 135‑year‑old engineering and surveying firm, as a Survey Crew Chief. This permanent, full‑time position involves leading survey teams across Colorado Springs, Durango, and Greenwood Village (Denver Tech Center), CO.
Job Overview As a Survey Crew Chief, you will perform a wide variety of land surveys, including ALTA/NSPS, Boundary, Topographic, Construction Layout, As‑Built Pipeline, 3D Scanning, and UAV surveys. The role requires 80% travel and includes field staking, data collection, and report preparation.
Responsibilities
Conduct ALTA/NSPS land title surveys.
Perform boundary and topographic surveys.
Manage construction layout and as‑built pipeline surveys.
Utilize 3D scanning and UAV technologies for survey data.
Organize field notes and ensure accurate documentation.
Execute field staking and process survey data.
Read construction plans and assist with boundary research.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
8+ years of property survey experience, including ALTA and Section Line surveys.
Proficiency with GPS, Total Station, and data collectors.
Ability to read construction plans and organize field notes.
Valid driver’s license and insurability under company insurance.
Willingness to work outside in varied weather and terrain conditions.
Ability to lift up to 25 lb frequently, 50 lb frequently, and 100 lb occasionally.
80% travel required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with LiDAR, point clouds, and advanced scanning.
Oil & Gas pipeline survey experience.
DOT survey experience.
Strong math skills and LSIT certification.
