Senior Tax Reporting & Compliance Specialist

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Specialist in Tax Reporting & Compliance to join our team in Germany. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and improving tax reporting and compliance processes, with a primary focus on German tax regulations. This position is ideal for professionals with more than 3–5 years of experience who are ready to take ownership of key tax activities and collaborate across departments. What might appear on your to-do list?

Prepare and file German tax returns, including corporate income tax, VAT, trade tax, and other statutory filings. Review and manage tax prepayments, including assessing whether adjustments are needed based on current financial performance. Maintain and regularly update tax documentation in accordance with German tax law. Review intercompany transactions and contracts from a German tax compliance perspective, including transfer pricing documentation. Support external tax audits and coordinate with tax authorities as needed. Collaborate with Accounting, Controlling, and Legal teams to ensure accurate tax data and reporting. Monitor changes in German tax legislation, OECD guidelines, and EU tax directives. Provide internal guidance and training to finance teams on German tax compliance requirements. Assist with special projects related to international taxation, process improvements, and digitalization of tax workflows. Do you meet these criteria? You're already a strong candidate!

Bachelor’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Steuerberater) are a plus. Extensive understanding of German tax compliance principles and local/international tax regulations. Experience with taxation matters related to real estate development projects is an advantage. More than 3–5 years of experience in tax compliance or a related field, ideally within a multinational company or consulting firm. Solid understanding of German tax law, including corporate tax, VAT, and trade tax. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Effective communication skills in German and English. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems and tax compliance software is an advantage. Experience with taxation matters related to real estate development projects is an advantage.
