Are you an experienced accounting professional looking to take the next step in your career? We’re seeking an Assistant Controller to support our finance and accounting operations. This role is responsible for managing daily accounting functions, assisting in financial reporting, ensuring compliance, and supporting budgeting and audits.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting operations: accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations
Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations
Support budgeting and forecasting processes
Assist with payroll reconciliation and coordination with HR/payroll provider
Help coordinate external audits and prepare supporting documentation
Analyze financial data and trends to support business decisions
Assist with the implementation and improvement of accounting systems and procedures
Provide financial reporting and insights to management
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
CPA certification or progress toward CPA (preferred)
3–5 years of accounting experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or senior accountant role
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
High level of integrity and confidentiality
Experience in transportation, logistics, or fleet-based industries is a plus
Standard office environment
Monday–Friday, full-time (some flexibility during closing or audit periods)
