Shift:

11:00 am – 7:30 pm, evening; every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday) and holidays required. Flexibility with additional week‑day shifts is necessary. Status: Part‑time with benefits.

Overview The Guest Ambassador serves as a liaison between patients/visitors and the organization, welcoming guests, providing visitor passes, communicating directions, hospital policies, procedures, and services, and safeguarding patient visitation rights.

Responsibilities

Welcome all guests to the medical center by proactively greeting them using proper verbal and non‑verbal communication and facilitating visitation in accordance with organizational policy.

Remain visible and position oneself at the information desk with a professional appearance consistent with attire standards.

Direct conference participants to accurate conference areas and/or investigate the location of meetings for guests requesting assistance.

Escort or arrange escort for patients requiring a wheelchair to their location as necessary.

Make confirmation calls for patients, complete sign‑in into Epic upon arrival, and announce patients to registration.

Answer telephone calls and facilitate them in accordance with organizational and departmental standards.

Enforce access‑control function by advising guests of visiting and access policies, alerting security to any violations that cannot be resolved using de‑escalation or service‑recovery techniques, assisting security as necessary, and completing event reports as needed.

Explain parking options, associated fees, and discount programs.

Handle routine inquiries and direct patient complaints to appropriate individuals.

Conduct environmental observations (e.g., cleanliness, noise) and follow up to address issues in coverage areas such as the lobby, public restrooms, and wheelchairs.

Maintain accurate monetary exchange for the sale of newspapers and coordinate delivery of mail, flowers, and gifts.

Adhere to all HMH, hospital, and departmental policies and procedures.

Identify and report trends to the Experience Leader.

Serve as a resource to visitors waiting in coverage areas.

Maintain high departmental morale and smooth transition of work by maintaining a good working relationship with colleagues and volunteers, and completing all shift‑change requirements.

Physically assist patients and visitors as required.

Perform any other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.

1‑2 years of working experience in a front‑desk, reception, or hospitality setting.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced, visible environment while maintaining professionalism and confidence in stressful situations.

Highly resourceful, efficient, and organized with excellent interpersonal, verbal communication, problem‑solving, and service‑recovery skills.

Basic computer skills.

Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred: Patient Advocacy Certification.

Preferred: Bilingual.

Compensation Minimum rate of $18.36 per hour. Full benefits package available.
