As a Data Center Project Engineer, you will be part of a creative, diverse team tasked with solving fascinating problems constructing Amazon Data Centers. Our data centers exemplify energy efficient, cost-effective designs. You will work alongside partner teams such as Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning to build Data Centers that directly support our Customers. As our Data Center Project Engineer, you will support the teams that build some of the most interesting electrical and mechanical systems in the world. You will be on the construction site, daily interacting with the construction managers and stakeholders and be directly responsible for supporting the fast, high-quality delivery of our data center construction. The Data Center Project Engineer will be part of the onsite Construction Management team and will own the communication coordination with our vendors, information workflow, and coordination of document management including requests for information (RFI), change orders, reports, and schedule updates. Establishing communication and coordination across a data center region’s general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams. Examples include sending out region-wide changes to construction trailer setup, COVID-19 testing procedures, or location to access documents. Developing and maintaining a tracking system for design changes, RFIs (requests for information), and change orders and dashboards, and tracking this information for regional leadership review. Include tracking status of priority and due dates. Requesting and reviewing MOPs (Method of Procedure) for proper detail, necessity, and risk. On-boarding new vendors for badging and orientation. Updating project management software with milestone dates, correspondence, and documents. Monitoring delivery of owner-furnished material to site. Compiling and storing construction data from vendors. Managing checklists including safety, quality, and substantial completion checks. A day in the life: This position requires a high level of travel to Canton, MS in support of Data Center Construction activities. Travel requirements are anticipated to be short term and project-specific in nature. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

A four-year degree in a technical field such as engineering, construction management, or a trade school OR 4+ years of related construction experience in lieu of a degree. 2+ years of experience working in the construction industry or an engineering organization. Experience updating and managing construction data including milestone dates, RFIs, design changes, and change orders. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working with IT tools such as MS Office Suite including Project, Excel, and Word. Experience with project management software tools such as Procore and document control. Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software. Experience in a mission-critical data center, including developing workflows and tracking systems with change management, vendor equipment delivery, and document controls across 3+ organizations/teams. The base pay for this position ranges from $83,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
