The Department of World Languages at the University of South Florida, Tampa, is seeking candidates for an appointment to a nine‑month, full‑time, non‑tenure‑earning position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Instruction, effective August 7, 2026.
Minimum Qualifications
PhD degree from an accredited institution in German Studies or a related field. Must meet university criteria for appointments to the rank of Assistant Professor of Instruction.
Advanced German language skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
At least two years of experience teaching German language and culture at the university level.
Experience teaching asynchronous online German courses.
Experience in organizing and conducting study abroad programs, co‑curricular activities, and community outreach.
Responsibilities Teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced level undergraduate German language and culture courses.
Compliance and Federal Notices This position may be subject to a Level 1 or Level 2 criminal background check.
This position is subject to Foreign Influence Screening. House Bill 7017 (HB 7017).
