Job Description The Department of World Languages at the University of South Florida is seeking candidates for a nine‑month, full‑time, non‑tenure‑earning position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Instruction, effective August 7, 2026.

Responsibilities

Teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced level undergraduate German language and culture courses.

Qualifications Minimum qualifications:

PhD in German Studies or a related field, meeting university criteria for the rank of Assistant Professor of Instruction.

Advanced German language skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred qualifications:

At least two years of university‑level teaching experience in German language and culture.

Experience teaching asynchronous online German courses.

Experience organizing and conducting study‑abroad programs, co‑curricular activities, and community outreach.
