Job Summary Bolton Valley Resort is seeking a skilled
Terrain Park Groomer Manager
to oversee terrain park construction, maintenance, and grooming operations. This role manages the park crew, schedules grooming, and ensures a safe, innovative, and high-quality experience for all guests.
Essential Functions
Lead and supervise the Terrain Park Crew, including daily assignments, training, and performance oversight.
Operate grooming equipment to shape, maintain, and rebuild terrain park features to resort standards.
Coordinate with the Mountain Operations Director on park layout and design.
Monitor park conditions and perform regular inspections to ensure safety, quality, and compliance with resort policies.
Oversee setup and maintenance of rails, boxes, jumps, and other features, including proper signage and marking.
Maintain grooming logs, equipment maintenance records, and safety documentation.
Collaborate with the events team to prepare and maintain competition and special event venues.
Work closely with snowmaking and grooming teams to optimize snow resources and feature consistency.
Respond to weather and snow conditions to adjust grooming plans as needed.
Perform additional mountain operations duties as assigned.
NOTE:
All Bolton Valley employees are required to perform alternate functions from time to time, both within and outside of their assigned department, particularly during peak periods such as holiday weekends.
Customer Service Expectations The Terrain Park Specialist has regular customer interactions with visitors and users of the park, and must be helpful, friendly, courteous and professional in accordance with Bolton’s commitment to providing superior customer service.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or management experience preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of grooming or terrain park construction experience required; management or supervisory experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of terrain park design, feature building, and industry safety standards.
Proficient in the operation of grooming machinery, including winch cats and snowcats.
Ability to lead, motivate, and train a small crew effectively.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Must be able to work outdoors in cold, snowy, and variable conditions.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Knowledge and Skills Snow shaping skills, as well as knowledge of terrain park components and proper terrain park etiquette.
Physical and Mental Demands This position works primarily outside, and requires prolonged periods of skiing/riding and labor-intensive maintenance work in all weather conditions and on slippery and/or uneven snow or icy surfaces. Requires lifting up to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling snow with rakes and shovels, and using power tools.
Work Environment This position involves working outside in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, wind and rain, on varied snow surfaces, and requires being on your feet for the majority of the scheduled shift.
