About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Development for Medicine, Surgery, and Clinical Care. This dynamic leader will be responsible for shaping and growing a comprehensive grateful patient program that supports groundbreaking clinical care and research. The successful candidate will lead a grateful patient fundraising team, manage the overall fundraising program across multiple departments, centers, and institutes, and be a key player in securing six-figure+ gifts. The role requires a proven track record in fundraising, particularly in the fields of health sciences and academic health systems, and an understanding of the complexities and sensitivities of grateful patient fundraising. The Executive Director will also be tasked with fostering a multi-disciplinary mindset, providing strategic management, and serving as a lead contact for philanthropic efforts.

Candidates for this position at The Company should have a Bachelor's degree (Master's or advanced degree preferred) and at least 10 years' of progressive experience in fundraising. The role demands excellent communication skills, the ability to manage a high-performing team, and a creative, problem-solving approach. The Executive Director will be expected to work closely with senior leaders, physicians, and faculty to leverage philanthropic opportunities and must be adept at cultivating and stewarding relationships with high-net-worth individuals and corporate business leaders. Experience in academic medicine and campaign fundraising is preferred, and knowledge of HIPAA requirements for development activities is essential. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, a team builder, and have the intellectual depth and collaboration skills to garner the trust and confidence of various stakeholders.
