About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Development for Medicine, Surgery, and Clinical Care. This dynamic leader will be responsible for shaping and growing a comprehensive grateful patient program that supports groundbreaking clinical care and research. The successful candidate will lead a grateful patient fundraising team, manage the overall fundraising program for multiple departments, centers, and institutes, and be a key player in securing six-figure+ gifts. The role requires a proven track record in fundraising, particularly in the fields of health sciences and academic health systems, and an understanding of the complexities and sensitivities of grateful patient fundraising. The Executive Director will also be tasked with fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, providing strategic management, and serving as a lead contact for senior medical and research staff.
Candidates for this position at The Company should have a Bachelor's degree (Master's or advanced degree preferred) and at least 10 years' of progressive experience in fundraising. Essential skills include excellent communication, the ability to manage a high-performing team, and a creative, strategic approach to problem-solving. The role demands a self-starter with a sense of urgency, the ability to handle multiple complex activities, and a commitment to the mission of advancing healthcare. Experience in academic medicine and campaign fundraising is preferred.
