About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic financial leadership and oversee all fiscal operations. The CFO will be a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for ensuring that financial decision-making is in line with the organization's mission. This role involves serving as a thought partner to the President and CEO, participating in strategic activities, and attending board meetings to provide financial and operational insight. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten years' of senior fiscal leadership experience, a Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, and a CPA, other accounting certification, and/or MBA is advantageous.
The CFO will lead a team of 12, including a controller, and will be tasked with establishing and implementing financial policies and procedures, maintaining compliance with GAAP and other regulations, and overseeing the budgeting and financial reporting process. The successful candidate will be a strategic financial thinker with a deep understanding of nonprofit accounting, government and private grant funding, and the regulatory environment. They should have a proven track record of operational excellence, be adept at staff management and development, and possess strong communication skills to effectively engage with both financial and non-financial staff. The role requires a collaborative and mission-aligned approach, with a focus on integrating financial management within the broader programmatic goals of the organization.
