This role requires a seasoned, strategic, and mission-driven individual with a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school, active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California, and a minimum of 15 years of legal experience, with at least 10 years in healthcare law or a related regulatory environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership in a complex, multi-entity organization, preferably within a healthcare system, and a strong understanding of the legal landscape governing nonprofit, integrated healthcare systems.

Key responsibilities for the CLO at the company include serving as the chief legal advisor to the CEO, executive leadership, and the Board, directing and managing all legal affairs, providing counsel on strategic transactions, and ensuring organizational compliance with federal and state regulations. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing legal team, maintain and promote ethical standards, and foster a culture of accountability. Competencies for this role include being a strategic thinker, possessing exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, and demonstrating unquestionable integrity and discretion.
