The successful candidate will be a strategic leader and accomplished researcher with a deep commitment to advancing health equity. Responsibilities include providing academic and administrative leadership, developing a strategic vision for the department, and fostering a culture of innovation and discovery. The Chair will also be expected to strengthen internal and external collaborations, expand research and education, and ensure the department's continued excellence in training the next generation of public health scientists and practitioners.
Candidates for the Chair position must have a doctoral degree with training in epidemiology and be qualified for an appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level. The ideal candidate will have a history of building collaborations, a proven track record in leading an academic unit, and a strong background in research and scholarly excellence. Collaborative leadership, experience in academic administration, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion are essential. The role requires the ability to manage change, generate and steward resources, and develop and implement strategies for faculty recruitment, retention, and development. The Chair will also be expected to engage with the community and advance the department's mission of improving public health.
