About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chair for its Department of Biomedical Informatics. The successful candidate will be a dynamic academic leader with a strong vision for expanding the department's role in the discovery and dissemination of knowledge in clinical informatics. This leadership position is pivotal in providing strategic direction for the department's education, research, and programmatic missions. The Chair will be responsible for the development and execution of a departmental vision, faculty and staff recruitment, mentoring, and retention, as well as the oversight of educational and training programs. A key focus will be on clinical informatics and AI research, with an emphasis on team science collaborations and the application of cutting-edge technologies to healthcare.

Applicants for the Chair position must have a PhD in a relevant field or an MD with additional training in biomedical informatics. The role requires a proven track record in federal grant funding, national distinction in teaching, patient care, or clinical research, and the ability to build and lead successful programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in multi-institutional collaborations, a strong background in administrative leadership, and a history of working with diverse communities. The Chair will also be expected to have a strong network with healthcare partners and a commitment to advancing the quality, safety, and efficiency of healthcare through the application of biomedical informatics and AI.
