The Hotel Finance Director is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring profitability, and providing strategic financial guidance to the hotel management team. This position is part of the Hotel Executive Leadership team who collectively make key strategic and operational decisions for the Resort. About Four Seasons: Four Seasons is powered by our people. What we are looking for and what you can bring to the table: You have proven leadership skills in a hotel/resort environment. You have the highest level of integrity and transparency. You present strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work with cross-functional teams, negotiate for resources, influence stakeholders, and gain acceptance of plans, ideas, initiatives, etc. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare and deliver reports, effective presentations, and to facilitate meetings. You have experience and proven ability to promote a continuous learning environment that creates opportunities for professional development. Your professional career applies an ethical approach to influence outcomes. Your career experience includes working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and job knowledge of all positions in Accounting, Purchasing and Food & Beverage control. On-the-job learning or professional certifications provide the knowledge. Ability to read, write, and speak English. Working knowledge of hotel systems and operations. Strategic, analytical thinking and solid business acumen. Candidate must have authorization to work in the United States.
Your Responsibilities Include Financial Management:
Oversee all accounting and financial requirements, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Ensure accurate and timely financial statements are prepared. Cost Control:
Implement and maintain effective cost control measures to maximize profitability, including purchasing, inventory control, and risk management. Team Leadership:
Lead and develop the finance team, providing coaching and support to ensure high performance and adherence to financial policies and procedures. Strategic Planning:
Collaborate with the General Manager and other department heads to develop financial strategies that align with the hotel\'s goals and objectives. Provide financial insights to support decision-making. Compliance and Internal Controls:
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal controls. Regularly review and update financial policies to maintain sound accounting practices. Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement. Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings.
Other Required Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To Safeguard the hotel\'s assets and financial resources to maximize profitability. Provide timely and accurate financial information and counsel to hotel senior management and ensure compliance with local and corporate policies and the Management Agreement. Deliver high-quality financial reporting, internal control compliance, and business management with integrity and accuracy. Prepare a comprehensive monthly financial report in established formats and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Advocate Finance Department programs and policies to the Executive Committee, Department Heads, and staff. Monitor Accounts Receivable aging and collections to meet company standards. Maintain files on contracts, leases, and agreements; ensure proper authorization and competitive bids where applicable. Ensure monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts are prepared and signed off per policy. Strive for continuous improvement of processes and efficiency. Monitor, control, and record all hotel sales, purchases, salaries, and expenses; manage labor costs in line with service levels and laws. Prepare forecasts and budgets as required locally or by corporate/Management Agreement. Review cash position daily to optimize funds usage. Identify and drive new business opportunities that benefit the hotel. Support, mentor, and develop finance employees for today and the future. Maintain harmonious, professional relationships with all departments and Corporate Office. Maintain relationships with ownership and auditors; address recommendations and ensure appropriate action.
