Senior Lease Accountant (ASC-842)

— Our client, a

Fortune 500 Manufacturing Corp , is seeking a

Senior Lease Accountant

to take ownership of

global lease accounting

activities across real estate, fleet, and equipment portfolios. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert on ASC 842, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance, while partnering cross-functionally with operations, finance, and legal teams. Base pay range

$90,000.00/yr - $105,000.00/yr Key Responsibilities

Oversee the global administration and reporting of facility, vehicle, and equipment leases. Review and interpret lease agreements to determine appropriate accounting treatment under

ASC 842 . Maintain and validate lease data in the company’s lease accounting system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual terms. Prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations for monthly, quarterly, and annual closes. Lead the preparation of audit schedules and act as primary contact for lease-related audit requests. Perform detailed reconciliations of lease-related accounts, resolving discrepancies proactively. Identify and implement process improvements, including automation opportunities to strengthen efficiency and controls. Partner with internal teams (finance, real estate, logistics, and legal) to ensure accurate reflection of lease terms. Provide guidance to junior staff and act as a technical resource on lease accounting policies. Stay current on lease accounting standards, regulatory updates, and best practices. Support special projects such as system upgrades, M&A activity, and accounting policy updates. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with strong background in lease accounting preferred. In-depth knowledge of

U.S. GAAP

and ASC 842 lease accounting standards. CPA preferred. Experience with lease accounting software (FinQuery or similar) a plus. Strong Excel and financial systems skills; ability to document processes and policies. Proven ability to analyze complex problems and deliver timely, accurate solutions. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and present to management. Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities.
