Overview
SR MANAGER FINANCE role at The Home Depot. We are looking for a strategic and results-oriented finance leader to oversee financial operations for our domestic transportation network. This role will deliver end-to-end financial oversight, providing critical analysis, planning, forecasting, and expense management across the first- and middle-mile transportation P&L. The ideal candidate will drive data-informed decisions and partner cross-functionally to support operational and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead financial planning, forecasting, and controllership for domestic transportation operations.
Partner with transportation leadership to drive functional performance, manage costs, and support strategic goals.
Serve as a key member of the transportation leadership team, contributing to business decisions and long-term value creation.
Collaborate closely with finance leadership to align financial strategies with broader organizational objectives.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting within the Transportation Finance team.
Manage and develop a team of finance professionals.
Additional Responsibilities
Strategic Analysis/Problem Solving - Understands the business; identifies process and organizational improvements. Plans and executes department objectives. Participates in annual budgeting, reviews monthly expenditures, and ensures budgetary goals are met. Reviews monthly metrics to ensure goals are met.
Project Management - Develops strategic alliances with business partners. Participates in cross-functional activities focused on solving business issues and enhancing competitive advantage. Facilitates cross-functional communication with Finance, Operations, and Information Systems.
Leads, plans, and coordinates work to perform financial functions and activities; uses metrics to track performance and manage workload. Ensures processes comply with established policies.
Forecasts revenues and expenditures and reports to management.
Conducts financial planning for function and makes appropriate recommendations.
Drives key functional financial metrics.
Financial Reporting.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports
Typically reports to Director Finance.
Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others, including planning, monitoring, and reviewing work of subordinates. May include supervision of a shift or coordination of multiple work groups. Makes recommendations regarding selection, termination, performance appraisal, and professional development.
Travel Requirements
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
