Position Purpose Lead the evolution of macro space planning by driving the adoption of advanced analytics, automation, and process improvements. Scope and manage the proof of concept for new floor planning solutions, ensuring alignment with Home Depot’s strategic objectives. Work closely with cross-functional partners to implement processes and controls that maintain a digital twin of the physical store environment, ensuring planograms are accurately located within store layouts. Define and document end-to-end processes, resource requirements, and business value to support the full rollout of floor planning solutions at scale. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across the macro space planning function.

Key Responsibilities

50% Lead/develop team in executing space analysis that influences Merchant decisions and financial outcome. Work with Merchants to capture visual merchandising strategy, and provide corresponding planogram support. Projects will typically involve opportunities that have the potential to drive significant incremental revenues. Accountable for team's accuracy, thought process, timeliness, and viability of recommendations. Review, monitor and communicate metrics and results.

30% Identify, develop, and refine processes to enhance space management within Merchandising

20% Collaborate with business leaders to determine priorities and ensure alignment. Developing connections with cross‑functional partners to further analytical insight and viability of executing assortment/space changes. The Sr. Manager must be proficient at communicating to all levels of management.

Direct Manager/Direct Reports

Position Reports to Director, Space Planning

Number of Direct Reports is 6.

Travel Requirements

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Working Conditions

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

Deep expertise in macro space planning and floor planning tools

Proven experience scoping and managing proof of concept projects for new solutions

Demonstrated ability to implement and sustain processes and controls for digital twin environments

Strong analytical, technical, and project management skills

Experience defining business processes, resource requirements, and business cases for large‑scale solution rollouts

Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and scalable solutions

Experience with floor planning, Revit, or similar tools

Strategic, innovative, and comfortable with ambiguity

Strong cross‑functional collaboration and communication skills

Minimum Education

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
