Staff Engineer - Finance Data Specialist (Hybrid) This job description outlines the responsibilities and qualifications for a Staff Engineer - Finance Data Specialist focused on building and maintaining a Finance Data Warehouse/Lake, partnering with Finance and Technology teams to transform and utilize Finance data to meet business goals. Responsibilities

Leverage strong functional and technical finance systems expertise to drive solutions that meet current and future needs of the department and GEICO. Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the software lifecycle. Support design sessions to ensure systems are well designed, efficient, and meet business expectations. Collaborate with Finance Leaders within FP&A, Controllers, Financial Reporting, Finance QA & Systems, Data Engineering, and Finance Technology to align on goals. Establish a vision and technology roadmap to build out a Finance Data Lake/Warehouse; provide a central repository for all financial transactions as a reconciled source of truth for processing and analytics. Support FP&A planning/budgeting, financial reporting, revenue/expense analytics, and the overall build-out of the Finance Data Warehouse to enable a reconciled ledger. Apply deep experience with ERP and Finance Data Warehouses, including deployment of best practices across multiple ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, Workday, SAP, PeopleSoft). Experience with data ingestion, transformation projects, and cloud data solutions (Delta Lake, Iceberg, Hudi, Snowflake, Redshift or equivalent). Design, develop, implement, and maintain data processing pipelines using ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Informatica, DBT). Translate business and functional specifications into technical specifications; analyze and refine change requests. Share best practices and improve processes across teams. Qualifications

15+ years of Finance Systems experience with industry-leading ERP solutions (e.g., Oracle, Workday, SAP, or PeopleSoft). 3+ years of experience implementing and supporting FP&A applications (preferred). 3+ years working with a Finance Data Lake/Warehouse/Mart and Financial Reporting tools. Strong understanding of Dimensional Data Modeling. Strong knowledge of data processing/transformation using ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, DBT, etc.). Strong SQL skills; ability to write, debug, and optimize SQL queries and ETL jobs. Experience with Financials via major vendors (PeopleSoft, Oracle EBS, Oracle Cloud, Workday, SAP). Finance domain expertise to translate processes into system solutions; good understanding of FP&A budgeting, planning, and forecasting. Experience in Revenue or Expense analytics using tools like Power BI, Tableau, etc. Understanding of accounting processes and reporting expectations; ability to partner with Finance teams. Ability to communicate with users across Technology and Finance; strong project management awareness. Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment; strong problem-solving skills; knowledge of the software development life cycle. Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent education or work experience. Annual Salary
