Staff Engineer - Finance Data Specialist (Hybrid) Base pay range: $115,000.00/yr - $260,000.00/yr GEICO is seeking a Finance Data Specialist to support the build out of a Finance Data Warehouse/Lake by partnering with Finance and Technology teams to redesign how GEICO uses its technologies to manage finance data. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Finance Data & Analytics and focuses on building, maintaining, and supporting a Finance Data repository to support FP&A processing and analytics, while serving the broader Finance organization’s data needs. The Finance Data Specialist will help the Finance Data Warehouse/Lake become a reconciled source of truth for financial transactions and analytics, and support FP&A Planning/Budgeting, financial reporting, and Revenue/Expense analytics, contributing to a reconciled source to enable the GL to become a “thin” ledger. Responsibilities

Leverage strong functional and technical finance systems expertise to drive solutions that meet current and future needs. Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the software lifecycle. Support design sessions with peers to ensure systems are well designed, efficient, and meet business expectations. Collaborate with Finance Leaders within FP&A, Controllers, Financial Reporting, and Finance QA & Systems, along with Data Engineering and Finance Technology leaders to build out the Finance Data Lake/Warehouse. Develop a vision and technology roadmap to build out the Finance Data Lake/Warehouse. Understand finance data lake/mart concepts and data processing using ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica, DBT, etc. Experience designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining data ingestion and transformation solutions. Experience with cloud data solutions (Delta Lake, Iceberg, Hudi, Snowflake, Redshift or equivalent). Develop roadmaps and implement Revenue and Expense analytics solutions. Influence customers and stakeholders and navigate divergent expectations. Support governance frameworks for SOX and audit reviews. Communicate with Technology and Finance stakeholders to ensure alignment toward long-term goals. Translate business and functional specifications and change requests into technical specifications; share best practices across teams. Qualifications

15+ years of Finance Systems experience with ERP solutions (e.g., Oracle, Workday, SAP, or PeopleSoft). 3+ years implementing and supporting FP&A applications (Preferred). 3+ years working with a Finance Data Lake/Warehouse/Mart and Financial Reporting tools. Strong understanding of Dimensional Data Modeling. Experience with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, DBT, etc.). Strong SQL skills and the ability to write, debug, and optimize SQL queries and ETL jobs. Experience with Financials via major vendors (PeopleSoft; Oracle EBS; Oracle Cloud; Workday; SAP). Finance domain expertise to translate processes into system solutions. Understanding of FP&A budgeting, planning, and forecasting. Experience implementing or supporting Revenue or Expense analytics via Power BI, Tableau, etc. Understanding of accounting processes and reporting expectations. Ability to communicate with users across Technology and Finance; independent and collaborative work style. Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of software development life cycle. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent Salary
