This position is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is passionate about maintaining excellence in a hotel setting. The Engineering Supervisor will report to the Director of Engineering and the Assistant Director of Engineering and should possess the following.
Responsibilities
Supervise daily engineering operations to ensure all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems are functioning efficiently and safely.
Lead, train, and motivate the engineering team while fostering a positive, safety-driven work environment.
Assign and follow up on daily maintenance tasks and preventive maintenance schedules.
Inspect guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas for maintenance needs and ensure timely resolution.
Maintain accurate records of work orders, maintenance logs, safety checks, and inventory.
Support energy management and sustainability initiatives to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.
Partner with other departments to support guest requests, event setups, and emergency maintenance needs.
Ensure compliance with all hotel policies, brand standards, local codes, and safety regulations.
Assist in coordinating and overseeing outside contractors performing maintenance or renovation work.
WAGE The wage for this position is $36.35. This is the pay rate for this position that Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.
SHIFT This is a Split Shift position and will consist of the following schedule.
3 days working from 4pm to 12:30am and 2 working overnight from 12:00am to 8:30am.
Normally Monday ,Tuesday and Wednesday are 4pm to 12:30am and Friday Saturday are overnight 12:00am to 8:30am.

Basic computer knowledge such as Word, Excel programs and email
A minimum of 5-years building maintenance experience is required
Previous supervisory experience is preferred
Basic knowledge in plumbing, air-handling units, kitchen equipment and preventative maintenance required
