Senior Associate, Social Media Digital Marketing
HarbourVest is an equal opportunity employer. This position will be a hybrid work arrangement with remote workdays and in-office collaboration. We are seeking a Senior Associate, Social Media and Digital Marketing to join our team in Boston. This role works closely with executive leadership to build social profiles and voice, and to extend our brand voice and content engine. The candidate will collaborate with the wider Marketing team including Digital Marketing, Executive Communications and Public Relations, Internal Communications, and global marketing teams.
This role is split between social media and digital marketing responsibilities, requiring an action-first mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities and partners.
What you will do
Executive Social Media & Content (60%)
Executive Social Media Strategy: Develop and manage a strategic social media presence for our CEO and other firm leaders, ensuring content aligns with their professional brand and the firm's goals.
Content Creation: Create and curate high-impact content to enhance industry presence and engagement.
Community Management: Monitor and engage on platforms like LinkedIn with industry peers, influencers, and publications to amplify executives' voices and networks.
Reputation Coordination: Observe digital platforms to safeguard online reputation and assist in delicate communications.
Paid Media Strategy: Develop and manage paid content boosting and campaign promotion with agency partners, including geo-targeting and audience segmentation.
Promote Executive Event Participation: Promote executives’ attendance at industry events, crafting social content to highlight speakers and roles.
Post-Event Content Amplification: Capture and distribute key takeaways and media from events to extend thought leadership.
Analytics and Storytelling: Monitor data and translate insights into actionable social strategy adjustments.
Digital Marketing & Website (40%)
Digital Strategy: Analyze metrics and provide strategic insights for future campaigns.
Web Optimization: Collaborate on landing page concepts, SEO improvements, and search visibility for potential clients and investors.
Analytics and Reporting: Track website activity and demonstrate ROI by linking digital engagement to business outcomes such as lead generation and media mentions; proficiency with Google Analytics and other analytics tools.
Technical Proficiency & Platform Expertise: Support potential website redesigns, assist with content migration, tag analytics, and maintain project roadmaps; experience with WCMS, DAM, and content publishing workflows.
Additional Digital Initiatives: Support other digital marketing efforts including campaigns, paid search (SEM), and overall digital strategy.
What you bring
Experience: 3-5 years in marketing, ideally within financial services, investment banking, or public relations.
Communication: Superb written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft social media copy for senior executives.
Project Management: Strong interpersonal and project management abilities, coordinating initiatives with multiple collaborators, timelines, and scopes; high attention to detail.
Collaboration: Willingness and confidence to work with cross-team collaborators.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with WCMS, project management tools, and CRM/databases.
Software Skills: Microsoft Office, Adobe (Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign, Express), social media tools, Google Analytics, Adobe Experience Manager, Figma or Canva.
Policy Campaigns: Experience working with policy decision-makers and public affairs teams is a plus.
Education B.S./B.A. in Marketing, Business or related field.
