Overview
We are seeking an accomplished
Director of Mechanical Engineering
to lead our dynamic team of
HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection (sprinkler)
engineers and designers at our
San Francisco production facility . This role is responsible for setting the
technical direction , ensuring
design excellence , and driving the
successful execution of mechanical engineering projects
for commercial facilities across the
San Francisco Bay Area . As a design-build organization, collaboration between engineering and field teams is central to our success. The ideal candidate is a
strategic and hands-on leader
with a passion for innovation, mentorship, and delivering high-quality, cost-effective mechanical solutions. Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of mechanical engineers and designers. Oversee the design and engineering of
HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
for commercial building projects. Ensure all mechanical designs meet
code compliance, performance, and client specifications . Develop
pre-construction budgets
and provide technical direction during the design and construction phases. Collaborate with clients, project managers, architects, and field installation teams to deliver seamless design-build execution. Establish and maintain
engineering standards, processes, and best practices . Drive
innovation in design methods and engineering tools
to improve efficiency and quality. Conduct quality assurance reviews and oversee design documentation. Qualifications
Licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer (PE)
in California (required). 10+ years
of progressive experience in mechanical (primarily HVAC) engineering and design for commercial facilities. Proven track record of
leading and managing engineering teams . Strong background in
design-build ,
tenant improvement , and
retrofit
project delivery. Proficient with
CAD and BIM software tools
(e.g., Revit, AutoCAD). Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Must be
comfortable working on-site daily
