Evergreen Vision Evergreen is Liberty Mutual’s multi-year, business-led, technology-enabled flagship transformation program for our Workers’ Compensation line. We will be trusted advisors in Workers’ Compensation by deploying our deep expertise to manage claims accurately and efficiently, while providing insights to improve risk management decision making.
The Opportunity As a senior software engineer on one of our agile teams, you will provide technical leadership, design and build greenfield features, leverage APIs to bring business capability layers to life, mentor junior engineers, and promote engineering excellence and code quality.
Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership on Agile teams and design and build greenfield features for the Evergreen program.
Qualifications
5+ years of software engineering experience; progressive responsibility.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience.
Experience with modern architectural patterns (REST, GraphQL, microservices, event-driven, serverless, MVC).
Hands-on with layered systems architecture, design, and shared software concepts.
Experience with CI/CD and DevOps; observability tools (Datadog, Splunk).
Experience designing secure systems (authN, authZ, threat modeling, STRIDE).
Experience with agile methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban, SAFe); mentoring/junior engineers.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Skills
API-based integration technologies (REST, GraphQL, microservices, Node.js, Spring Boot).
Proficiency in Java and TypeScript; other languages a plus.
Cloud platforms and runtimes (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry).
GitHub, Codacy, Jira, Confluence; GenAI in development lifecycle.
Strong collaboration, prioritization, negotiation, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with AWS serverless and Spring Boot stacks.
Experience in Insurance domain, Workers’ Compensation, or Claims.
AWS Solutions Architect certified; Guidewire Insurance Suite experience.
Background in compliance-heavy industries (healthcare, finance).
