Job Description And Duties
Under the general direction of the Receiver’s Medical Executive, the Optometrist conducts eye examinations using observation and instruments to determine visual acuity and perception, focus, and coordination to diagnose diseases and other abnormalities for the patient. Maintains order and supervises the conduct of inmates and protects and maintains the safety of persons and property. Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program (PLP 2025) may affect base salary; see the memorandum of understanding for details. This is a limited term position which may be extended or become permanent. Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a valid license to practice optometry in the State of California. Two years of experience in the practice of optometry.
