Sr. Product Manager, Insurance Purchasing & Policy — Tesla Join to apply for the Sr. Product Manager, Insurance Purchasing & Policy role at Tesla. Tesla Insurance is transforming how customers purchase, experience, and use their auto insurance. We are revolutionizing the industry with our telematics-based insurance model ("Safety Score"), which uses vehicle sensor and safety data to price customers based on how they drive, not who they are. In this role, you'll work closely with engineers, designers, actuaries, legal experts, and business leaders to develop and expand our insurance offerings (both in the U.S. and abroad), and build a first-in-class insurance quoting, purchasing, and management experience. We’re looking for a Product Manager with experience in the insurance or automobile industries, or other highly-regulated industries like legal, healthcare, or financial services. You must have experience navigating complex legal and business environments while prioritizing excellent user experiences for customers (mobile app or web) and insurance agents (web). What You'll Do
Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the insurance purchasing and policy experience Design and deploy intuitive, user-centric solutions that simplify complex workflows and leverage automation, AI agents, and LLMs at scale Translate customer and internal team pain points into intuitive, scalable product features Write clear product requirements, prioritize ruthlessly, and partner with engineering and design to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions at speed Use data, experimentation, and feedback loops to continuously refine the platform, improving conversion, efficiency, and customer satisfaction Collaborate across global operations to adapt workflows to diverse regulatory and market requirements without sacrificing simplicity What You'll Bring
6+ years of P&C experience, with 5+ years of personal lines insurance experience in product development or product management Degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, with a knack for identifying trends and taking action Strong technical skills with SQL, Mongo, or similar data analysis and visualization tools, and experience creating reports and dashboards Ownership mentality, works quickly and efficiently to execute projects Superior organizational and project management capabilities, comfortable managing multiple complex priorities in a fast-paced environment Benefits
