Position Overview We are seeking an experienced

Asset-Based Sales Director

with an established book of business to drive growth in our dedicated truckload and drayage services. This is an individual contributor role for a proven sales professional with deep relationships in the Chicago/Midwest market. The ideal candidate brings existing customer relationships and a track record of selling asset-based transportation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Leverage Your Network:

Convert your existing relationships and book of business to expand Grane's dedicated truckload and drayage customer base

Drive Revenue:

Generate new business opportunities through your established connections with shippers, BCOs, and freight forwarders requiring dedicated fleet and container drayage services

Sell Asset-Based Solutions:

Present Grane's dedicated fleet capabilities, intermodal drayage services, and integrated logistics solutions to SMB, mid-market, and enterprise accounts

Manage Key Accounts:

Maintain and grow relationships with customers requiring dedicated trucking and port drayage services in the Chicago market

Collaborate Cross-Functionally:

Work directly with operations, pricing, and dispatch teams to deliver customized transportation solutions

Market Development:

Identify opportunities within Chicago's intermodal terminals, rail ramps, and industrial corridors

What We're Looking For Required Experience

5+ years selling asset-based transportation services (dedicated truckload, drayage, or intermodal)

Proven success selling to SMB, mid-market, and enterprise customers across various industries

Deep knowledge of Chicago's drayage market, including port operations and intermodal terminals

Strong relationships with importers, exporters, BCOs, and 3PLs in the Midwest

Technical Skills

Experience with dedicated fleet solutions and asset optimization

Understanding of container drayage operations and UIIA requirements

Proficiency with TMS/CRM systems

Ability to develop pricing strategies and ROI models for customers

Personal Attributes

Self-motivated individual contributor who can work independently

Hunter mentality with proven ability to close complex, high-value deals

Strong negotiation and presentation skills

Willingness to travel 40-50% within Chicago/Midwest territory
