The Environmental Service Manager
must have a giving heart and facilitate a positive experience for our residents. Having a passion for our residents is a key to success in this position. This position requires that you are out and about in our community interacting with our residents and training staff and inspecting what you expect.
Two or more years experience in a retirement community, hospital or hospitality setting required.
Other responsibilities include:
Trains all staff assigned to Environmental Services on procedures of cleaning methods also to include various work order requests, hard floor care and carpet cleaning to the appropriate staff
Schedules cleaning of all resident apartments and cottages for weekly cleaning.
Schedules cleaning of all health care areas for daily cleaning
Prepares Cleaning Procedures Forms daily for staff and any other assignments
Understands this position is a “working” Environmental Service Manager, and fills in as needed
Interacts with residents on informing them about cancelations, late arrivals, or special requests of cleaning. Respectful to residents on complaints and able to resolve problems in a professional manner
Works in Independent Living and Health Care of Glenaire and has knowledge of all aspects of cleaning procedures
Completes all special cleaning procedures that are scheduled for monthly, weekly, yearly cleaning. Such as bed cleaning, carpet cleaning, window cleaning, etc.
Coordinates and assigns work orders requested by staff and residents
Has knowledge of infection control, OSHA/SDS, and hazardous chemicals and waste. Able to see that Environmental Service Department performs responsibilities to pass Health Department Inspections in cleanliness
Knowledge of SDS sheets and bottle labeling
Helps Director with Department Inspections and Safety Inspections
Has training and understanding of operating a laundry
Inventory and order necessary supplies. Work with vendors to ensure the best pricing and the most suitable products
Checks on proper usage of supplies. Takes corrective action when employees are not using chemicals/ supplies properly. Paper products are used properly. PPE are being used
Inspects all common areas, offices, and public restrooms
Serves on various committees
Have high standards to safety, cleanliness, and the property of the residents of Glenaire
