About the Role
Digital Editor - Audio & Video Production
Communities revolve around commodities; we need a resourceful, creative editor to support our world‑class multimedia offerings, including podcasts, videos and data‑rich storytelling. As a digital content editor at S&P Global Commodity Insights, you will be embedded within the News team, collaborating with reporters, editors and analysts covering oil, agriculture, emissions trading and more. The role focuses on audio and video to deliver commodities news to subscribers and attract new customers. You will edit and publish podcasts and short‑form videos, curate content on the website, and coach and train other team members on digital media skills.
Responsibilities
Record podcasts in person and virtually and edit them.
Plan and edit short video content.
Coach video presenters and help with filming.
Publish stories, podcasts, videos and interactive content on the website and other online platforms.
Promote published content on social media channels.
Analyze content performance across web and socials and use data to drive strategy.
Generate ideas to innovate around social media activity.
Help with engagement initiatives to encourage wide participation in multimedia content.
Co‑ordinate with editorial, research, marketing and product teams to plan and execute content on a global scale.
Basic Qualifications
Three years in a digital production role, preferably in an online or broadcast news setting.
Track record of producing and editing podcasts and videos using tools such as Audacity or Premiere Pro.
Basic filming skills for short‑form/mobiles video.
Excellent writing skills with strong grasp of spelling and grammar and ability to apply house style.
Eye for detail and sharp visual presentation.
Sharp editorial judgment, ability to spot a good news story.
Experience creating social media content for platforms such as Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram.
Instinct for storytelling and an ability to find the “so what?” in a story.
Understanding of basic economic concepts, interest in commodity markets, energy and raw materials.
Comfortable with data and interested in data visualization – data underpins the majority of our content.
Strong communication skills.
Strong audio and video editing skills; experience in a newsroom setting is ideal.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with content management systems / web publishing.
SEO knowledge or experience.
Compensation & Benefits Information S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $85,000 to $95,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
