Overview
Digital Editor - Audio & Video Production. Commodities are at the heart of many of the biggest news stories today, and we are looking for a resourceful, creative editor to support our multimedia offering, including podcasts, videos, and data-rich digital storytelling. You’ll be embedded within the News team and collaborate with reporters, editors and analysts covering topics from oil to agriculture to emissions trading. We are expanding our audio and video to deliver commodities news to subscribers and reach new audiences, with a growing podcast portfolio and a video news program that was shortlisted for a Future of Media award. You will edit, publish and promote podcasts and short-form videos, help curate and enhance content on our website, and coach others in digital media skills. A passion for news, strong storytelling instincts, and applying journalistic best practices to multimedia content are essential. Strong audio and video editing skills are required, ideally with newsroom experience. You should be collaborative, proactive, and willing to试out new tactics for creating, packaging and sharing content. You will monitor content performance analytics to track impact and evolve our strategy. A genuine interest in commodity markets is a must, but full training will be provided if needed. Responsibilities
Record podcasts (in person and virtually) and edit them Plan and edit short video content Coach video presenters and assist with filming Publish stories, podcasts, video and interactive content on the website and other online platforms Promote published content on social media channels Analyze content performance across web and social channels and use data to drive strategy Generate ideas to innovate around social media activity Support engagement initiatives to encourage wide participation in multimedia content Coordinate with editorial, research, marketing and product teams to plan and execute content on a global scale Basic Qualifications
3 years in a digital production role, preferably in an online or broadcast news setting Track record of producing and editing podcasts and videos (including experience with Audacity, Premiere Pro) Basic filming skills for short-form/mobile video Excellent writing skills with strong spelling and grammar; ability to apply house style Eye for detail and sharp visual presentation Sharp editorial judgment and ability to spot a good news story Experience creating social media content for multiple platforms (e.g., Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram) Instinct for storytelling and ability to find the “so what?” in a story Understanding of basic economic concepts and interest in commodity markets, energy and raw materials Comfortable with data and interested in data visualization; data underpins content Strong communication skills Preferred Qualifications
Experience with content management systems/web publishing SEO knowledge/experience Compensation and Benefits
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $85,000 to $95,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
