We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven
Operations Leader
to oversee and optimize a $80M multi-site operation across the Gulf region, including five strategic locations in Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico as well as manufacturing in our Ft Worth facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence, enhancing productivity, and ensuring seamless coordination across all our functions to meet strategic business objectives.
This leadership role demands strong expertise in equipment service operations, manufacturing operations, and cross-functional team leadership. The Operations Leader will play a critical role in aligning operational processes with Owen goals, increasing productivity, working with sales on demand planning and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, cost, and delivery.
This position currently has three direct reports: two Operations Managers and one Parts and Service Manager, with a total team of 66 employees. Most employees are located in Ft. Worth and the rest are in OKC, San Antonio and Houston.
Key Responsibilities Strategic & Operational Leadership:
Develop and execute comprehensive operational strategies for all Gulf region businesses, aligning with overarching company goals.
Oversee daily operations across multiple sites, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and adherence to best practices.
Implement standardized operational procedures and performance metrics across the business units.
Identify and integrate synergies between different businesses to maximize overall performance and cost efficiency.
Financial Performance & Management
Develop, manage, and optimize operational budgets for all business units in the Gulf region.
Analyze complex accounting and financial data to drive profitability, control costs, and improve revenue streams across the business units.
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction without compromising quality or service.
Team Development & Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of regional managers and operational staff across the business units.
Oversee talent acquisition, training, and performance evaluation processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Promote cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing among teams.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure all operations comply with relevant local, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal policies.
Implement safety procedures and quality assurance programs across all sites.
Market Growth & Business Development:
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and suppliers across all business segments.
Ensure all operational activities support the enhancement of the organization's image and market position.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Operations Management, or a related field; MBA highly preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in operations leadership, with at least 3-5 years overseeing multiple business units or locations.
Experience with metal fabrication and weld production environments
Proven track record of driving operational excellence and financial growth across diverse business models.
Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team-building qualities, with the ability to inspire and empower regional teams.
Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management across multiple entities.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
Superior communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in business management software, CRM, and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to travel frequently across the Gulf region to oversee operations, engage with teams, and meet with clients.
