The
Director of Facilities & Warehouse Operations
is responsible for leading all aspects of facility operations, supply chain management, cold chain logistics, security, and safety compliance across Gifthealth’s pharmacy and warehouse network. This position ensures the seamless, compliant, and efficient movement of temperature-sensitive medications and materials while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. The Director drives continuous improvement across operations to support Gifthealth’s growth, operational excellence, and commitment to patient care.
Responsibilities
Facilities Management: Oversee all facility operations, maintenance, and space planning across pharmacy and distribution sites.
Facilities Management: Manage build-outs, expansions, and modifications of pharmacy and warehouse facilities, ensuring environmental and regulatory compliance.
Facilities Management: Lead preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, refrigeration, and other critical systems supporting pharmacy operations and cold storage.
Facilities Management: Ensure all facilities meet federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, including Board of Pharmacy, DEA, and OSHA standards.
Supply Chain & Logistics: Develop and execute an integrated supply chain strategy to optimize procurement, inventory management, distribution, and vendor relationships.
Supply Chain & Logistics: Oversee sourcing of medications, cold chain packaging, and ancillary supplies to ensure uninterrupted fulfillment of patient orders.
Supply Chain & Logistics: Implement supply chain analytics and KPIs to monitor performance, reduce waste, and control costs.
Supply Chain & Logistics: Collaborate with pharmacy leadership to forecast inventory and resource needs aligned with prescription volume and business growth.
Supply Chain & Logistics: Ensure compliance with DSCSA, FDA, and state-specific distribution regulations.
Cold Chain Management: Lead all aspects of cold chain operations, ensuring temperature integrity from receipt through dispensing and delivery.
Cold Chain Management: Partner with a quality and compliance team along with packaging and logistics vendors to continuously improve thermal protection, reduce returns, and optimize costs.
Cold Chain Management: Oversee cold storage capacity, equipment calibration, temperature monitoring systems, and alarm response protocols.
Cold Chain Management: Work with investigation specialists to determine root-cause investigations for temperature excursions and develop CAPA plans.
Cold Chain Management: Maintain documentation and training to ensure compliance with USP, FDA, and manufacturer cold chain standards.
Safety & Compliance: Direct all safety programs and initiatives, ensuring compliance with OSHA, DEA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations.
Safety & Compliance: Develop and lead emergency preparedness, hazardous material handling if necessary, and facility safety training programs.
Safety & Compliance: Oversee audits, inspections, and corrective actions to maintain regulatory compliance.
Safety & Compliance: Coordinate with HR and Compliance to ensure all staff receive required annual safety and FWA/HIPAA training.
Safety & Compliance: Monitor EHS metrics and maintain accurate records for inspections and reporting.
Security Management: Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive facility security programs to safeguard people, property, and products.
Security Management: Oversee physical security systems including key card access, video surveillance, alarm systems, and visitor management.
Security Management: Coordinate with local law enforcement and security vendors to ensure rapid response and incident resolution.
Security Management: Oversee investigations of security breaches, thefts, or unauthorized access and implement corrective measures.
Security Management: Oversee all controlled substances are secured and managed in compliance with DEA regulations.
Security Management: Lead annual reviews of security policies and perform regular drills to validate preparedness and response protocols.
Leadership & Collaboration: Lead and mentor teams across facilities, safety, logistics, and supply chain functions.
Leadership & Collaboration: Partner with Operations, Quality, Compliance, and Engineering teams to align infrastructure with workflow needs and business objectives.
Leadership & Collaboration: Manage department budgets, capital projects, and vendor contracts.
Leadership & Collaboration: Champion a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
10+ years of progressive experience in facilities, supply chain, or logistics management, with 5+ years in cold chain operations within a pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare environment.
Strong understanding of temperature-controlled logistics, packaging validation, and regulatory standards (USP, DSCSA, FDA, DEA).
Proven experience managing multi-site facilities and large-scale operational projects.
Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.

Must be able to travel between company sites or vendor locations as needed to oversee facility operations, conduct inspections, and meet with external partners.
Must be able to maintain accurate documentation and ensure all operational, regulatory, security, and quality standards are consistently met across all sites.
