Specialist - Instructional - Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Job Goal: The BCBA will support District-wide efforts for the development, implementation and monitoring of behavior-analytic services that will provide direct support of related services for students, families and schools as related to social/emotional and behavioral health issues. The BCBA will work to assist in changing behavior(s) of social significance by clarifying and targeting the relevant behavior-environmental interactions and work to support modification of behavior(s) by assessing the functional relationship between targeted behavior(s) and the environment. The BCBA will provide direct assistance to students, families and schools by developing, implementing and monitoring appropriate social/emotional and behavioral health interventions.

Job Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in relevant and related field (Education, Psychology, Human Services, Human Development, etc) required.

Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) required. Preference given to candidates with certification to oversee Registered Behavior Technicians.

Knowledge of and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Culturally Responsive Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (CR-PBIS), Restorative Justice Practices, and/or Multi-Tiered Systems of Support.

Experience in data collection and analysis as well as the development and implementation of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs).

Experience working with children and/or adults with moderate to severe behavioral, conduct and/or social-emotional needs.

Experience in coaching school teams, classroom teachers and/or support staff in the implementation of behavioral supports and interventions as well as school wide positive behavioral support systems.

Essential Functions:

Consultation and support services to building level Problem Solving teams and IEP teams in the development of intervening strategies as part of individual Behavior Support Plans including completion of Functional Behavioral Assessments and/or Analyses as needed and appropriate;

Direct parent training, as a part of a team, to facilitate the use of appropriate supportive strategies within home and community settings;

Oversight of Registered Behavior Technician (RBTs) program for paraprofessionals within Brandywine School District;

Provide Professional Development (PD) on both large and small scales related to MTSS, CR-PBIS, data collection and analysis techniques, and any related topic as identified by the district support team; and

Performing other related duties as assigned by the Special Education & Support Services Administration.
