Position Overview We are seeking a results-driven Store Manager to oversee operations at one of our retail grocery locations. This role requires both strategic leadership and hands-on involvement in daily store functions to drive sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The Store Director partners with department managers and team members to deliver the Caputos experience
fresh, inviting, and community-focused. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Operations Lead overall store operations across fresh departments (produce, meat, bakery, deli), center store, and front-end. Provide training, coaching, and performance management for department managers and employees. Set clear expectations, delegate tasks, and follow up to ensure accountability. Foster a positive workplace culture that supports teamwork, growth, and inclusivity. Open and close the store, ensuring safety and compliance procedures are followed. Merchandising & Customer Experience Create inviting, fresh, and shoppable departments through effective merchandising and displays. Manage side counters, endcaps, and WOW presentations to drive sales. Ensure excellent customer service by addressing questions, complaints, and returns in a professional manner. Serve as a visible leader in the store, engaging with customers and staff daily. Financial & Inventory Management Monitor KPIs including sales, margins, shrink, and labor costs. Oversee ordering, inventory accuracy, and in-stock levels across all departments. Ensure compliance with food safety standards and all legal/certification requirements. Manage departmental profitability and support corporate initiatives for growth. Team Development Work with department managers to cross-train staff and ensure operational flexibility. Address performance or disciplinary issues fairly and consistently. Lead by example, demonstrating integrity, responsibility, and excellence in all interactions. Qualifications 35 years of progressive grocery retail leadership experience (Store Manager, Store Director, or equivalent). Strong knowledge of perishable and non-perishable operations. Ability to pass and maintain food safety certifications as required by law. Proven success in financial accountability, merchandising, and team development. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
