Lead, direct and coordinate the work of subcontractors and Turner trade labor for Mechanical and Electrical systems included in the project. Ensure safety, schedule delivery, quality of work, and adherence to budget. Supervise and develop Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and interns; participate in performance appraisals as assigned. Maintain ethics and compliance requirements at all times. Create and sequence schedules, and develop recovery strategies to maintain project schedule and budget. Communicate with owners and architects/engineers regarding field issues and resolutions. Manage the billing process related to work in place, including monthly estimates, payrolls, material invoices, and subcontractor payment applications. Ensure work is installed in accordance with approved contract documents. Coordinate with the Engineer on mechanical and electrical systems layouts and 3D model coordination for approvals by architects and engineers. Lead inspections, startup, commissioning, turnover and training, and generate punch lists for system handover. Direct and monitor subcontractors and suppliers to conform with plans, specifications, codes, and standards. Review project changes with the Project Engineer and maintain detailed daily progress records. Participate in preconstruction efforts (e.g., constructability, logistics). Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or at least four years of formal engineering or architectural experience and a minimum of six years of mechanical/electrical/plumbing construction experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of building construction, means and methods, scheduling and cost control procedures, contract documents, drawings and specifications; specific knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Systems; proficiency with building information modeling and coordination of MEP systems; strong written and verbal communication; ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings and schedules; demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office. Physical Demands: Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and navigate construction areas; vision requirements; manual dexterity; ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally. Work Environment: On-site construction environment with exposure to varying conditions, noise, and hazards; typical PPE and safety protocols apply.
