The Investor Services Finance team provides financial analysis and business decision support for Schwab’s Investor Services enterprise which generates $15.6B in annual revenue with $9.2B in direct expense. The team’s objectives are to help business partners drive operational leverage and maximize profitability through rigorous analysis to support strategic decision making and planning, understand business trends, and communicate segment performance. This role supports the Retail enterprise in the Retail Experience & Specialized Relationships (RESR) organization, which integrates across channels and the Retail ecosystem to align with a common Retail Strategy and deliver exceptional experiences for Retail clients and the reps who serve them. While this role encompasses the full spectrum of FP&A responsibilities, it offers an opportunity to focus on dynamic ad-hoc analysis and strategic business partnering, complementing traditional financial planning and reporting. Many strategic initiatives originate within the RESR organization, and Finance is frequently called upon to provide economic impact analysis to assess potential opportunities. These requests may take the form of business cases or ad-hoc inquiries from top Retail leadership. One day might involve evaluating a new strategic investment, while another could focus on a specific franchise branch opportunity. The role includes consistent responsibilities, with the ideal candidate embracing a diverse range of analyses and projects. What You Have

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field A minimum of 4 years of related Financial Planning and Analysis or similar experience Tactical knowledge on business processes and tools, especially within Finance Demonstrated experience applying financial accounting and managerial accounting principles Demonstrated experience applying financial analysis principles (e.g., discounted cash flow analysis, marginal costing) Basic understanding of modern financial theory, capital market investments and financial products Strong communication (written and verbal) and partnering skills; comfortable interacting with director and MD level business partners and finance officers Strong public speaking/presentation skills Strong quantitative, analytical support skills Advanced PC skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and financial modeling Meaningful experience with PeopleSoft or similar ERP software and experience with planning tools or other business analytics (such as IBM Planning Analytics) and planning software What You’ll Do
Financial Planning & Reporting Lead monthly close process for expenses, personnel, and related metrics, including identifying and communicating variances to Plan Facilitate ongoing forecasting and the annual budgeting process Identify and understand risks and opportunities affecting future business results and lead efforts to drive budget trade-off decisions within the business Plan, organize and produce financial reports and analysis for business partners on a periodic basis Proactively develop improvements to the efficiency and effectiveness of reporting processes and reduce FP&A cycle times Perform other financial reporting needs as required by the business Ad-Hoc Analysis Source/mine data to build and maintain financial models to inform and influence decision making Develop SQL data skillset to support business initiatives Help drive business decisions and influence the future direction of products/services Develop business cases to support investment decisions and measure benefits to understand results across a diverse set of client segments, products and offers Perform other ad-hoc analyses as required by the business Business Partnering Relationship/thought partnership with department Managers, Directors and senior leadership within RESR What’s in it for you
