Senior Manager Network Engineering role at Oracle. The Infrastructure Engineering Services (IES) Data Center Network Engineering team delivers enterprise-grade network services that power Oracle’s workloads across OCI and OHAI platforms. This role leads the Network Implementation Engineering group, reporting to the manager of Data Center Network Engineering. Responsibilities
Lead the Network Implementation Engineering group, directly managing engineers and senior engineers across US and global data centers Define and execute engineering team goals using Agile workflows and Confluence documentation Partner with the Network Strategy team to operationalize future-state network designs Drive high-visibility implementations, migrations, and refresh projects across global data centers Ensure compliance with patching, security, and network health metrics Foster a strong Incident/Problem Management culture using RCA and proactive problem avoidance Oversee automation efforts for provisioning (Python, Ansible, Git) Champion engineering best practices and enforce change control processes Serve as escalation point for critical incidents; support 24/7 network availability goals including manager on-call rotations Contribute to vendor management and tool evaluation decisions (Cisco, Arista, HPE) with focus on Citrix and F5 technologies Drive measurement and reporting of KPIs, SLAs, and OLAs Deliver and support data center network infrastructure across Oracle’s global footprint Achieve high availability through resilient design, maintenance rigor, and proactive engineering Ensure secure, compliant, and cost-effective solutions aligned to lifecycle management practices Direct lifecycle management of network infrastructure hardware and software across all layers (L2–L7), including structured software upgrade programs Establish long-term lifecycle roadmaps with proactive planning for patching, end-of-support transitions, and vendor-driven feature enhancements Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with peer teams and stakeholders Cultivate team culture grounded in accountability, mentorship, and engineering growth Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship and ability to pass a federal background check (SF-86) Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent hands-on experience 7+ years of experience in enterprise-scale network engineering 5-7+ years managing high-performing technical teams Demonstrated success leading network engineering projects in data center environments Deep understanding of network protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, IPSEC), routing, and Layer 2/3 architecture Experience with Cisco ASR, ACI, NX-OS, ASA, Firepower, Arista EOS, and PAN-OS Operational experience with monitoring tools, incident management platforms, and performance analytics Hands-on experience with automation frameworks (Python, Ansible, Git) Experience with compliance programs and security patching workflows Proven experience in lifecycle management and structured execution of software upgrades across routing, switching, firewall, and load balancer platforms Ability to develop and build frameworks for consistent pre- and post-change validations Preferred Qualifications
Prior leadership of a global team in a 24/7 network engineering environment Knowledge of OCI, Azure, or AWS virtual networking components Experience leading migrations or tech refreshes in highly regulated environments Familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines as related to infrastructure Proven ability to drive culture and behavioral change within engineering organizations Experience integrating and operationalizing network analytics tools (Grafana, Elastic, SNMP traps, syslogs) Knowledge of vendor lifecycle programs and structured upgrade planning methodologies Experience with F5 BIG-IP, Citrix ADC, or equivalent load balancing platforms About Us
